Little Bit of Stress

Most days, I wake up already stressed. Other days after a cold shower, I feel a little better. Some days I start off feeling fine in the morning; but somehow end up coming home stressed out. There are other times that life is great.

These last few days have been just comletely and utterly STRESSFUL!!

I mean, someone must have made this sign for ME, and it's permanantly imprinted on my soul. UUUGGGHHHHHH!!

Someone help me, please!

There isn't a day that goes by that another student hasn't added my class. I feel like posting a note on my door saying, "No Vacancy"... better luck next year. Honestly, they told me that I would be teaching at two different schools b/c the "numbers" were down too low this year to keep me full time. So, here I am...a "traveling" yet full-time educator. And yet, every class but one is full, with no extra seats to spare.

I guess I'm supposed to feel good about this?

"Profe Lambson is cool...take her class"

"Spanish is fun in Trailer B...sign up for that"

"Well, it's hard...and I'm in it again this year, but she's a cool teacher"

"If you wanna be cool, take Spanish"

or better yet...

"No matter what you need, Spanish is right for you...

RIGHT THIS WAY, please"

I know there are signs posted on all of the bathroom stall walls...I just haven't found them yet. But when I do.....when I do...someone is in for it! And if you're wondering if you should pray for me...DON'T...I have multiple times and it's not doing a thing. In fact, I even wrote my prayer down for you to read...hope you like it.

Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,

the courage to change the things I cannot accept,

and the wisdom to hide the bodies of those people I had

to kill today because they pissed me off.

And also, help me to be careful of the toes I step on

today as they may be connected to the ass that I may have

to kiss tomorrow.

Help me to always give 100% at work....

12% on Monday

23% on Tuesday

40% on Wednesday

20% on Thursday

5% on Fridays

And help me to remember.....

When I'm having a really bad day,

and it seems that people are trying to piss me off,

that it takes 42 muscles to frown andonly 4 to extend my middle finger

and tell them to bite me!

Amen

reasons I love being married to Steven

  1. He makes the bed every day (and it looks superb)
  2. He lets me take him shopping and doesn't complain (not too bad, anyway)
  3. about having to try all of the items on
  4. He never tires of rubbing my back, my feet, or wherever my aches and pains happen to be
  5. He always reminds me just how beautiful I am
  6. He works two jobs so we can save money and live the comfortable life we want to live
  7. He is dedicated to the Lord (and he often reminds me of that)
  8. Of course, I'm number two on his list (fine with me...)
  9. He is living in my parent's basement with me, just so we can pay off a few bills sooner (and that is not an easy task for anyone...living wit h the in-laws)
  10. He always asks my opinion
  11. When I ask him to do something (which is pretty often) he does it without complaining or blinking an eye
  12. He supports me in my job and in my church duties
  13. He wants to be the father of my children (let's hope they turn out having my feet instead of his, though....he he)
  14. He encourages me to be my best and inspires me to live a higher standard
  15. He notices the small things I do for him
  16. He lets me do the laundry my way and actually likes it
  17. I can kiss him anytime I want

¡Vamos a España!

Another day ..... Another dollar .....

I LOVE my job! It is the best part of my day (besides coming home to Steven). Wild and crazy kids trying to speak a foreign language. Man, I just love it. The best part about it, however, is to see your students return to your classroom with a big smile on their face and still loving the Spanish language.

Today, something really special happened to me. I was sitting in the classroom of my collegue, who also just happens to teach Spanish, and I experienced firsthand the results of what good teaching look like and sound like. I saw some of my top students, some of mis favoritos raising their hands to participate and answer questions...just to show off their knowledge. And to think for a second...I had something to do with that. It was a GREAT feeling of accomplishment. This doesn't mean that I am perfect, but this year has started out very well. And I know that every year will only get better. So, here's wishing this year is even better than the last....

The Ma'ake boys

I have the cutest nephews in the entire world! Man, they sure can be a handful at times (ok, ALL the time),
but they are so adorable!!!

The best part about it is that I taught Sione at a young age the correct answer to the question..."Who's your favorite aunt?" Without hesitation, he always yells, "AUNT T"
(that's me, of course).
And now, when I ask "Who's your favorite uncle?"
He says without blinking and eye, "Uncle Steve".....

I can't wait to teach it to lil Filipe when he's older....lol

Beautiful Nauvoo

What a lucky woman I am! I not only have found someone to share my life with, but I've found one who I can have for eternity! What a great feeling that is.

Nauvoo, Illinois...one of the most peaceful places one can hope to find on this earth. From the gorgeous temple to the cute little lily pads, I always find peace and serenity in that place. So, being able to go there and be married for time and all eternity was really special.

You know, most people complain about their engagements, their wedding day, the reception, and even the in-laws. But I wouldn't change a thing! Seriously...except for the extreme humidity and heat of the August day in the mid-west, it was perfect! Family and friends helped out so much...and I couldn't have even dreamed of anything going any more smoother than it did on that special day for Steven & I. The reception was wonderful...more food than anyone could ever eat, music that was spectacular, people that came from out west and back east, decorations that were just exquisite, and family that was extremely supportive, helping, and loving.

I felt like a true princess! From the wedding dress, to the special jewelry, my favorite punch, nachos and cucumber sandwiches, to the amazing fruit sculpture and the lit sparklers as Steven and I ran out to our fabulously decorated car...I was queen for the day. Never have I felt so blessed to have the family and friends that I do.

Here's hoping the best to the newest addition to the Lambson family...
